October's Snow

By Laurel Kassor

Dancing

across gray matter skies,

perpetual divinity

tumbling

downward upon clay mounds,

past the naked eye.

Glittering

beneath the opaque surface

with crystalline drops of dew

reflecting

a twinkle of sheer arctic tears

caught in the scope of Sun’s heat.

Spiraling

in cardinal fours without aim,

no preference of residence.

Drifting

on silent notes of white out wind,

amorphic blades slash at every angle.

Streaking

through waves of inertia

with Hawk’s discreet precision.

Wrapping

yesterday’s straw greens

in soft powdered sugar.
